Trader Counter Technical Specialist
We are looking for a Retail, Trade Counter Specialist for our client based in Gatwick/Crawley. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonnal and customer service / customer facing skills. What the role requires is a people person who has a technical qualification or equivalent expertise gained from working within an electronic or electromechanical, installation/maintenance environment. Our client will also been keen to consider cnadidates from a technical military background.
You will be expected to exceed expectations of our Trade Counter customers by providing excellent customer service and technical product support along with maximising sales opportunities.

More About the role
In the role of Technical Assistant you will provide technical product and catalogue support to our Trade Counter customers ensuring that strong relationships are established.
This technical position requires you to be able to identify products for display and carry out product demonstrations within the Trade Counter for our customers. This will involve you using your ability to recognise and identify customer’s product requirements, and relate to the application of these products within the customers operating environment.
You will also assist in the development and training of colleagues using your technical knowledge and experience.
As part of the Trade Counter Team you will pro-actively generate incremental sales and new customers along with having a strong focus on supporting the Field Sales Team.
The role also includes undertaking warehouse and stock management activities ensuring that all orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
What we’re looking for
This technical role requires a relevant technical qualification or equivalent expertise gained from working within an electronic or electromechanical, installation/maintenance environment.
It is essential to possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels together with experience of customer service and soft sales skills.
You will have previous experience in working within a retail or warehouse environment along with the ability to maintain a high level of stock management logistics.
Strong PC skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. Knowledge of the RS catalogue would also be beneficial.
